Longtime J.P. Morgan Private Bank clients, the Meier family, who live in Zurich, decided to purchase a yacht, which they will keep near their summer home on the Italian Riviera. Lara, Nikolas and their two children, Gabriel and Elias, hope to entertain close friends, as well as business partners and clients on their new yacht. They own a successful business in the hospitality industry that has been in Lara’s family for 150 years, and they always hoped to one day be able to make this purchase in order to expand their social and professional endeavors.
Lara and Nikolas spoke with their JPM team member about their upcoming purchase. Typically, they borrow from JPM in euros for large purchases. However it was advised by the JPM team that, in this market, borrowing in another currency and executing a cross currency swap could significantly reduce their borrowing costs.
By leveraging the guidance and timely market insights of their JPM team, Lara and Nikolas were able to further optimize the execution of their goal of financing a large purchase.
