Why should anybody choose the Private Bank in the Carolinas? You should choose the Private Bank in the Carolinas because you have the resources of a fortress balance sheet with incredible talent. Most of the people on the team have roots in the Carolinas, whether they grew up here, or they went to school here. 

I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. It makes me feel proud to be part of this community, to have trained in New York for 16 years and to finally have come back home. I think that what makes JP Morgan different is the culture, and the people. It's why I ultimately decided to leave the military and come to this firm specifically. I've never wanted to be average. I want to be a part of a team that is exceptional.

I think one of the great things about the way that we've structured the Private Bank in the Carolinas is that we really think about the Carolinas wide economy. It's not just here in Charlotte, it's across Raleigh, it's across Charleston. I spend a couple of days a month down there, a couple of days in Raleigh, really focusing on our set of clients which, in my world, is really our most sophisticated investors.

We realize the wealth that is present across the Carolinas. And we're continuing to see different individuals, companies, moving into the region that could benefit from our advice. We cover a broad range of clients, whether it is c-suite executives, financial sponsors, real estate individuals, entrepreneurs, family business owners, and even those with generational wealth. And so we find that being able to have the full suite of offerings allows us to fully cover every need that a client could have.

Clients have a variety of different goals, interests, and objectives, that they want to achieve over the course of their lifetime. Whether that be something along the lines of a potential business transition strategy. Whether that be philanthropic goals. We want to be integral in every aspect of our clients' lives.

The reality is, in 30 years, when one of my clients trusts is paying out income to their kids, I'm probably going to be retired at that point. And so I want to make sure that the institution that I'm working with, and that my clients are working with, have a pipeline set up that we're able to create continuity around that for our families. We've been in this business for nearly 200 years. It's something that I think is a legacy that we want to be able to continue.

Being at the table with some of the founders in Charlotte, it's an honor. It's a privilege to advise these families who are second and third generation owners, and they're leaving their baby, essentially. It's something that they've spent their whole lives building, and they're coming to me for advice on how to structure their estate plan, on how to think about borrowing and investing. And that's something I take very seriously. And I have found a newfound sense of purpose in that role.

I look back to what I think is what's so appealing about the Carolinas from a client's perspective, and that is that you have a very large firm with resources, but you have a local feel, and you have bankers who sit here in Charlotte and Raleigh and serve our local communities. We're in this market. We've invested a lot in this market as a firm, and as a private bank. And we're so excited to see what the future holds. We have a lot of opportunities to grow and to get better.
