Emerging Family Leaders is an incredible opportunity to bring together the next generation of our clients, family leaders, business leaders, entrepreneurs to not only connect with each other but also to just share and discuss some of the pressing issues that we are seeing today, whether it's disruption in businesses, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, family planning, family legacy, all of those fabulous topics.
I wanted to be a part of the Emerging Family Leaders just because of the culture that they've created here and all the amazing people that come. Of course, it's in the great city of Chicago.
I was excited to be a part of Emerging Family Leaders to learn from the community, learn from other people, because I'm very familiar with my sphere of genius in the influencer space or product development, but learning from other people, my peers and what they do, it's so inspiring.
The talent in this room is remarkable. Just watch what this group of people are going to do over the next few years. This is a master class on connecting the future minds of the US.
I think it really provides a safe space for this generation to work with peers who are experiencing similar things. They're in a similar financial position. And that can be hard sometimes in normal social settings to really engage deeply in those issues that are perhaps a little bit unique.
I can't think of a more opportunistic event to not only share our story, but learn from other people who are in the same field or in different fields that encounter some similar problems.
Yeah. And we've met great people. I think the content has been tremendous. We've learned a lot from a number of the speakers. And Erica mentioned, we also have met a lot of people who are involved in family business, have been working together with other family members, not only siblings, but some parents and cousins and other. And I think being able to share our experiences, learn from theirs, has been tremendous. The educational component and all the thought leadership that comes together at this event is incredibly invaluable for them to be able to take back to their families and help out with their businesses or whatever they're starting up with.
Be a part of this community here over the last couple of days and really start to learn about some of the other considerations that folks are making in the context of their families and family businesses and thinking about what legacy looks like and also how to really make part of it feel like your own.
The biggest piece of advice and what's been implemented in me from my family is hard work pays off. It does not matter who you are, what your last name is, where you were born. Everyone still has to work for what they-- work for what they deserve. And ultimately, at the end of the day, the outcome you're going to get is only going to be driven by what you put in.
I think for us, everything's really rooted in purpose first because if we why we're doing something, the risk makes sense, the money makes sense, the press plan makes sense, the storytelling makes sense. If it's rooted in a real purposeful goal, everything we build around it relatively quickly.
Communication is key. This is definitely the hardest relationship that I've had, the most work. But it really was, I think, communicating and being vulnerable. It's OK to be vulnerable and express your true feelings.
My legacy that I want to leave behind is that you can do it. And my biggest piece of advice is choose the absolute hardest path because it's probably going to pay off more than anything else. And if you take the easy road, it might be great at the time being, but in the future, I don't think it will serve you as well as whatever is the hardest possible choice that you can make and putting yourself in a very challenging position.
But at the end of the day, this is a chance for us to say thank you. And this thank you is putting you in a space where you get to meet people of similar background or may have common dreams and desires, and you can collaborate and work together. But it starts in this room. And that's what I love about this room.
