
Jean Sung is an executive director and the Head of Philanthropy Centre, Asia Private Bank, Hong Kong.
She is based in Hong Kong and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of giving models and structures. Jean brings experts and thought leaders together, explores trends and addresses pressing social issues on an ongoing basis to help philanthropists hear from peer groups and leverage actionable giving programs. Jean is recognized for her ability to identify social gaps and her wealth of cross-sector and multilateral networks helps build collaborative and like-minded alliances between the private and social sectors.
She also developed and initiated country-specific needs assessments, including KPIs, budgets and timelines in response to uplift social needs. Jean was responsible for setting up J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s Philanthropy Centre in Asia and works with clients and their families to articulate their philanthropic vision, strategy and goals to bring purposes to their giving.
Prior to joining The Private Bank, Jean was Head of Global Philanthropy for J.P.Morgan Chase in Asia Pacific (2006 to 2013), managing the firm’s corporate giving in 13 Asian countries. In this role, Ms. Sung developed & implemented programs and services designed to improve livelihoods and skills at work, with a focus on economic & workforce development, financial empowerment, as well as education, health and disaster relief with non-profits and multi-lateral partners.
She serves as Board Governor and Executive Committee Member of Bai Xian Asia Institute; Executive Member of Sustainability Committee, Link REIT; Independent Director of The UWCSEA Foundation Ltd, Member of Global Wellness Institute Advisory Board and Member of the McCain Global Leaders Advisory Council.
