Anurag Avula

Anurag Avula is Executive Director and Banker at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Singapore, where he leads the Innovation Economy practice for Southeast Asia and Australia.

In this role, Anurag is at the forefront of supporting founders, entrepreneurs, and technology-driven businesses, delivering tailored financial solutions that empower the region’s most dynamic innovators. He crafts bespoke wealth management strategies for entrepreneurs and their family legacies – his understanding of the technology sector and emerging industries directs his leverage of the Bank’s various lines of businesses to provide strategic guidance and insights that drive growth and transformation.

Anurag brings a unique entrepreneurial perspective to his role, having co-founded Shopmatic, a leading e-commerce platform that empowered thousands of small businesses across Asia during his leadership. After a successful exit, he remains committed to supporting the innovation economy.

Anurag holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics from Osmania University and a postgraduate degree in Management from the T A Pai Management Institute. He is multilingual, speaking English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and some French.

A passionate advocate for entrepreneurship, Anurag is actively involved with the Post Exit Founders community & TIE, globally and in Singapore. He is also a member of the Singapore Grand Prix F1 Race Organising Committee, serving as Deputy Clerk of the Course. Outside of work, Anurag enjoys exploring the world of wine as an aspiring sommelier, and pursues interests in reading, fitness, and sports.
