[EXCITING MUSIC]
I started my career in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where I was born and raised. My background is in accounting by trade. I always had a passion for numbers but really wanted to be able to tie that together with working with people and helping solve problems. And so got started with JP Morgan as an investment assistant.
I was there for 10 years, grew in my career, worked my way as an associate and then a VP working with some of our larger clients, and then was tapped on the shoulder back in 2018 to move down to Naples as we work to expand this market and our footprint in southwest Florida. And that's what brought my family and I here.
It's really my job to set the culture for the office, the expectation, you know, the pulse to which we work each and every day, the heartbeat of the organization. JP Morgan is so large and complex. And we have incredible resources and capabilities but really bringing that together at a local level with the people. Because at the end of the day, our peoples are the most important asset. That's why my job is to build an accountability framework, to build a collaborative team that works well together, and delivers best-in-class solutions for our clients.
The thing I probably love most about being the team lead is it's a player-coach role. So, you know, I'm helping, much like a coach would of a baseball team or a basketball team, build an identity and help people become better at their craft. And here in the community, it's a unique place to serve. You have wealth from all across the country that's migrating to southwest Florida and wealth that has been created in so many different ways. And so we have a diverse team in terms of interests and passions, expertise, and really bringing that all together so that we can make really good and informed decisions for the families that we advise.
I had a client go through an unfortunate situation in terms of family dynamics and, you know, to really hear the spouse say, like, we wholeheartedly trust you guys. And we believe you have our best interests in mind. And we know you're working for our best interests and not your own. Like, that was super rewarding. That really made me feel proud of what I do day in and day out. And I truly believe that JP Morgan, you know, we're a Wall Street based bank. But like, we do care about our clients. And we do look to serve them to the best of our capabilities, not only with resources and advice, but just from an empathetic perspective and being there for them and their kids and their grandkids.
The one thing that I'm setting out to accomplish right now, given my tenure with the firm, is just taking this office to the next level, and again, getting the best that I can out of the people that are here and hiring the best in class in terms of what we're looking for from a cultural standpoint and bringing an advisor to JP Morgan. When I joined the Naples office, we were a team of six. Today, we're a team of 20 with plans to grow to a team of 30. And so I'm really excited for what the future holds. I think there's a tremendous opportunity here. And we have a multi-generational team because we need to grow with multi-generational families.
