John D. Lowenberg Jr. is a Managing Director and Market Team Lead in the Palo Alto office at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. He leads the local team in delivering the firm’s capabilities to clients across the region, bringing together bankers and specialists across investments, lending and trust and estate planning. Drawing on a collaborative, relationship-focused approach, John works closely with the team to support clients as their financial priorities and circumstances evolve.
Alongside his market leadership responsibilities, John stays closely connected with clients and brings an institutional-caliber investment perspective to these relationships. His background includes extensive work with family offices and institutional investors, as well as raising capital for alternative investment strategies. With a focus on alternative investments, John brings a proactive and responsive communication style to client relationships, drawing on resources across J.P. Morgan to connect clients with specialists and capabilities in support of their broader financial needs.
Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, John was a Managing Director at BTIG | US Bank in San Francisco, where he built and maintained family office and institutional relationships across the United States and raised capital for alternative investment strategies.
John earned a B.A. in Economics from Denison University. Active in his community, he serves on the Regional Board of Advisors for Denison University and is a Development Committee Member of the UCSF Board of Directors.
Outside of the office, John enjoys golf, skiing, traveling, food and wine and spending time with family and friends.
