
Charlie Cooper is a Managing Director and Co-Head of Chicago at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. He leads and manages a team of more than 200 advisors, investment specialists, lenders, estate planning and philanthropic specialists, and client service professionals. Charlie’s team is dedicated to providing wealth management advice and strategies to executives, founders, foundations, families, and family offices. His team oversees more than $120 billion of client assets and has been a cornerstone of wealth management in Chicago for over 160 years. His team’s work includes the resources of J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank and Chase Commercial Bank as they intersect with private clients. Charlie is a member of the Chicago Executive Committee, a multi-disciplinary cross line of business working group to serve all constituents of the JPM Chase community in Chicago.
Charlie has twice been selected as one of J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s most impactful advisors and included in its “Morgan Circle”. Charlie has also been selected as one of the Top 400 Financial Advisers by the Financial Times and was selected as one of Barron’s top 1,200 Advisors1.
Charlie joined J.P. Morgan in 2007 while in the full-time MBA program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He graduated with concentrations in Finance and Economics. Prior to business school, he served in the United States Navy, both domestically and abroad, as a Surface Warfare Officer from 2001-2006. Charlie received his BA in Economics from the University of Colorado. Charlie is the Vice Chair of Lake Forest Academy’s Board of Trustees and serves on advisory boards for Semester at Sea and his local American Legion post. He holds the Series 7, 63, 9 and 10 securities licenses. Charlie grew up on Chicago’s North Shore. He currently resides in Lake Forest, IL with his wife and children.
