
Varcity Kariuki is a Managing Director and the U.S. Head of J.P. Morgan Outsourced Chief Investment Office, a group that focuses on managing customized mandates for endowments, foundations and institutional families. Previously, she served as the Global Head of the Private Banking Mortgage Solutions team and was responsible for a team of over 100 employees who delivered advice on optimal ways to structure mortgage debt and guide clients through the mortgage process. The Mortgage team had over $60 billion outstanding mortgages across the U.S., UK, France & Switzerland.
Prior to this role, Varcity led J.P. Morgan Private Bank’s U.S. Portfolio Specialists for Multi Asset Class Strategies; the team was responsible for the communication of investment capabilities and strategies of a $150 billion multi asset class platform to the Wealth Management salesforce, clients and prospects. Previously, Varcity served as an Institutional Client Portfolio Manager for the Global Fixed Income platform, covering East Coast clients.
An employee of the firm since 2001, Varcity also worked in Global Wealth Management for 10 years in a variety of Portfolio Management roles, culminating in the responsibility for overseeing the Global Discretionary Fixed Income team. Varcity began her career at the J.P. Morgan Investment Bank covering transportation companies. She has served as the Global Co Chair of the Asset Management Women’s Network in 2013 2017 and Global Co Chair of the firm wide Women’s Interactive Network in 2011 2012.
Varcity earned a B.A. in Economics and Mathematics from Smith College, an M.B.A. from NYU Stern School of Business, and is a CFA ® charterholder .
