Jorge Valcarcel, CFA®
Jorge Valcarcel is an Executive Director and Head of Investments and Advice for the Pacific Northwest Market. Jorge’s team helps clients navigate the firm’s extensive platform and offerings in a way that aligns with their goals and aspirations. They act as a powerful advocate to guide clients in making financial decisions necessitated by complex balance sheets and substantial wealth.
Jorge brings a diverse investment background informed by his experience across different geographies and with many institutional-caliber clients. He enjoys working collaboratively, getting to know each client’s situation and then presenting recommendations directly to them drawn from the firm’s intellectual strength and specialist resources. A former professor, Jorge serves as a sounding board to synthesize options and discuss trade-off scenarios. He takes a broad view of the capital markets, and helps clients think critically about risk and return parameters.
Over the course of his career, Jorge has shaped tax-efficient investment strategies across the financial landscape within the institutional and private client segments on Wall Street and internationally. Most recently, he was an ultra-high-net-worth Investment Counselor at Citi Private Bank and a Product Manager at Parametric Portfolio Associates. Previously, Jorge spent over a decade at Credit Suisse Asset Management in New York and Zurich, managing a large portfolio of alternative investments. He has also served as Chief Investment Officer for a wealth manager in Lima, Peru, and held private investments in Peru’s agricultural sector.
Jorge is a graduate of Dartmouth College and a CFA® charterholder. A native of Peru, he is fluent in English and Spanish. Jorge is passionate about equity and inclusion initiatives, and is involved with Rainier Scholars to pay forward the mentorship he received as a young man to go from an inner-city education to a private prep school—guidance that changed the trajectory of his life.
Seattle is his wife’s hometown, and he is happy to be raising his young son and daughter with her, close to family and friends in the area. Outside the office, Jorge is a DJ who enjoys spinning records at events.
