John Killen is a Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, charged with leading the Investment practice for the Dallas office. John directs a group of Investment Specialists to guide clients in navigating complex financial decisions and deliver the breadth of the firm’s investment strategies across all asset classes. He draws from the richness of his capital markets background to drive business impact and build J.P. Morgan’s visibility in the region.
John is a member of the Dallas leadership team, helping to oversee the growth agenda and the strategic direction for developing a client-centric organization. His focus is on providing wealthy individuals, families and institutions with best practices and innovative ideas that increase the probability of achieving their meaningful goals. John develops the talent of each team member and provides the resources needed to set them up for success. He continues to work closely with some of the most influential families in the area, strategically advising on approaches ranging from straightforward to complex for the benefit of their overall financial pictures.
Before his pivot to wealth management, John played professional baseball for the Boston Red Sox and Kansas City Royals organizations. He began his financial career at Fidelity Institutional Asset Management in 2014, where he served Registered Investment Advisor and Broker-Dealer firms as a specialist in factor-based, sector and passive investment strategies. John joined J.P. Morgan Private Bank in 2017 as an Investment Specialist before assuming his current position.
A graduate of Texas Christian University, John earned a B.B.A. in Entrepreneurial Management. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation and is a member of the CFA® Institute of Dallas-Fort Worth. He is involved with charities supporting those who have served and is part of the IBEX Club, a networking forum for focused, driven and high-character young men.
John and his wife, Susannah, reside in Dallas with their dog, Chuck. They make it a priority to get outdoors and enjoy nature. John likes hiking, fishing, golf, and spending time with family and friends.
