Jason Mueller is the Head of Investments & Advice for J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Chicago. Jason leads a team of Investment Specialists who deliver advice and portfolio strategies to affluent families and institutions across the Midwest. He draws from the strength of his investment experience to drive business impact and build J.P. Morgan’s visibility in the region.
In his dual-capacity role, Jason advises a select group of clients to sustain and grow their wealth over multiple generations. He is a seasoned resource to private business owners navigating liquidity events, and he blends portfolio experience with sophisticated wealth transfer strategies. Jason’s experience as an investor through the volatility of multiple market cycles is an asset to his clients and teammates. He began his career with J.P. Morgan in 2008, and led an initiative focused on client exposures to Lehman Brothers, AIG and other distressed securities during the Global Financial Crisis. In 2020, he steered more than 200 Chicago team members through the market instability and a transition to working remotely during the global pandemic.
Jason earned an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business with concentrations in Accounting, Economics, Finance and Strategic Management. He holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Jason is a member of the Leadership Circle for the Chicago-Northwest Indiana Corps of Teach For America, which aims to strengthen the movement for educational equity. He recently joined the Regional Board for Playworks Illinois, an organization that helps schools and youth programs create healthy and inclusive play environments for kids.
In his spare time, Jason is an avid endurance athlete; he has completed the Transamerica Chicago Triathlon, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and a number of distance relay races. Jason resides in the near north suburbs of Chicago with his wife, Christina, and their son, George.
