Christopher Nolan is a Managing Director and Head of Investments and Advice at J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Charlotte. He leads a team of Investment Specialists who deliver comprehensive wealth management guidance to private clients, family offices, foundations, and institutional investors. Chris and his team collaborate with clients to develop personalized investment strategies, offering experienced guidance across portfolio construction, asset allocation, manager selection, and both public and private markets.
A problem-solver by nature, Chris is known for his ability to remove obstacles and navigate the expanse of the firm. He leverages the full breadth of J.P. Morgan’s products and resources to address the complex challenges of significant wealth. With nearly 35 years in the industry, including over 20 years of institutional experience, Chris brings a wealth of perspective to evaluate market conditions and advise clients.
Chris joined the Private Bank in 2010 after working in institutional sales and trading at J.P. Morgan Investment Bank. He has held several leadership and advisory roles in New York and Greenwich, Connecticut, including Head of Investments & Advice and Market Manager, where he led high-performing teams and delivered the firm’s full capabilities to sophisticated clients.
Chris received an A.B. from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He holds FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, 24, 55, 63, and 65 securities licenses.
After Duke, Chris moved to New York City to start his career at one of our legacy companies, Chase Manhattan Bank. With their children now completing their university journeys, Chris and his wife have recently returned to the Carolinas and are embracing this new chapter with enthusiasm. Outside of work, Chris enjoys cooking, skiing, and live music.
