Austin Zaunbrecher, CFA®
Austin Zaunbrecher is an Executive Director and the Head of Investments Advice for J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Louisiana. He helps lead a team of Bankers and Investment Specialists to guide business owners, non-profits, family offices and other highly affluent clients in making the complex financial decisions that accompany significant assets. A native of the area, he draws from the richness of his industry network to drive business impact and build J.P. Morgan’s visibility in the region.
In addition to his leadership role, Austin partners with a select group of highly successful individuals, entrepreneurs and their families to engineer forward-looking investment strategies designed to meet their complex wealth objectives. He utilizes his investment management acumen, takes the time to be inquisitive and listen as clients explain their needs, and leverage this foundational knowledge, to harnesses the full extent of J.P. Morgan’s global capabilities to craft sophisticated portfolios intended to thrive across market cycles. Relatable and sincere by nature, he is a sought-after advisor, one whom clients recognize is truly committed to their success.
Over the course of his 16-year career, Austin has specialized in portfolio construction, investment management, equity research and alternative investments. Before joining J.P. Morgan, he served as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Hancock Whitney, responsible for running two prominent Hancock Horizon Funds. Previously, Austin served as an Investment Management Consultant, and he began his career in Merrill Lynch’s Private Banking and Investment Group in Washington, DC.
Austin earned an M.B.A. in Finance and a B.A. in History from Tulane University, where he was the recipient of an academic scholarship. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is former a Chartered Market Technician. Austin is a past President of the CFA Society of Louisiana. He has also enjoyed volunteering with organizations that promote and support childhood education in his local community. Austin and his wife, Durban, reside in his native New Orleans with their three young sons. In his free time, he is an avid reader, golfer, and enthusiastic fan of his boys’ sports teams.
