We are excited to be in New York City today to celebrate International Women's Day, with Diane von Furstenberg at the In Charge and Power of Kindness event. This is an incredible event of panels, discussions and conversations around how women can take charge of their lives and continue to make an impact in the world.
I always celebrated International Women's Day because it's something you do in Europe. And we call this the In Charge Day, because to be in charge is not an aggressive statement. It's the relationship with yourself. It's only who you are.
To me, being in charge is about figuring out a way to blend all the things in our lives, to be vocal about what we need and expect, and put that out in the world to make sure we get what we want, but also as a way to inspire other women around us.
My belief in tips are you really have to find that community around you, the people who will help you day to day, the people who will help you longer term to make sure you can stay in charge and focused on your goals.
As a leader, you can be ambitious and you can want progress, but you also can be kind and be successful. Those things are not mutually exclusive. And so for me, it's really, really important that kindness comes out as a leader to be able to drive a collaborative spirit with all of your team and lead with inspiration.
Content is virtually free. Getting yourself into something that makes you curious and interested and fulfills you will lead you and open up doors. Go beyond your comfort zone. Be curious about like the world and topics and podcasts and articles and, I don't know, your kids and everything. And it'll lead you to places that you just didn't know was possible.
At JPMorgan Private Bank, we are committed to empowering women at every stage of their wealth journey. We take a thoughtful and intentional approach to understand how women make financial decisions, and empower them with the necessary tools to take control of their legacies. We understand that by partnering with women and understanding what works well for them, we can continue to build a future that we're all proud of and plan for future generations to come.
