Omar Altahawi
Global Head of Lending Solutions
Biography
Omar Altahawi is the Global Head of Lending Solutions for J.P. Morgan Private Bank. In this role, he spearheads the strategic direction of a practice with over $200 billion of exposure and leads a team of global Lending Specialists who provide tailored financing solutions to clients, ranging from securities-based lines of credit to custom financing, including borrowing against art, aircrafts, yachts, subscription financing, commercial real estate or syndicated transactions. With over 20 years of experience with the firm, he is committed to driving innovation within lending portfolios.
His oversight of the Lending Specialist Team also includes managing complicated lending scenarios and partnering with advisors to assist individuals and families. Together they ensure that clients can take full advantage of their relationships with J.P. Morgan through strategically using leverage for the specialized needs of large balance sheets.
Omar brings his significant finance experience from his previous roles as the Treasurer for Asset & Wealth Management and as the Head of Wealth Management Solutions Finance. In these roles, he managed all aspects related to the division’s balance sheet that had cumulative assets and liabilities of over $470 billion, and he managed the strategy related to capital, liquidity, funding, interest rate and market risk management for the division.
Omar is from Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a B.A. in Finance and Information Systems. He has previously lived in Cleveland, Columbus and Chicago, and currently resides in New York with his wife and four daughters.
