
Brian McPartland is a Managing Director and Team Lead in the Los Angeles office of J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Brian heads a diverse group of advisors and specialists that seek to deliver integrated strategies that build and preserve wealth. Together with his team, he leverages the global resources of the firm to help successful individuals and their families in Southern California lead an impactful financial life.
Brian has amassed many years of capital markets experience on the frontlines of volatile market cycles. He draws from this background and his interactions with some of the world’s foremost investors to offer long-term and customized planning, investing and borrowing approaches. Brian works directly with private business owners and entrepreneurs to structure assets effectively, and to care for trust and gifting intentions. He fosters an environment of excellence and is approachable by clients and colleagues alike.
With a passion for foreign markets that has spanned his entire career, Brian joined J.P. Morgan’s Investment Bank in 2007, based in Hong Kong. There, he provided fixed income institutional coverage for top-tier Asian, European and U.S. asset managers and hedge funds. As sales head, he was accountable for Asian high-grade, high yield, private placement and distressed product distribution. Previously, Brian held similar roles at Citi and Credit Suisse First Boston in New York and Hong Kong. He began his career in the analyst training program at Morgan Stanley Asset Management.
A graduate of Boston College, Brian earned a B.S. in Finance and Management Information Systems. His degree reflects an innate drive toward proactivity, organization, risk management and problem solving.
Brian and his wife are raising their two sons in West LA. In his free time, Brian enjoys traveling and spending time with his family and their dog, Shirley.
