April Kupper, CFA®
April Kupper is a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank, charged with leading the Investment practice for the Northern California markets. In her senior role, April directs a team of professionals to deliver advice on portfolio construction, asset allocation and manager selection across both public and private markets. Her overarching mission is to provide successful families with sophisticated strategies that increase the probability of achieving their meaningful goals.
In her dual capacity, April blends the art and science of investing to guide her clients in making complex financial decisions that care for concentrated positions, pre- and post-IPO planning, market volatility, risk and return parameters, tax and estate strategies, and more. She plays an essential part in delivering direct access to the strengths of J.P. Morgan, communicating in understandable terms the firm’s market research, thought leadership, tactical tilts and opportunistic ideas.
Throughout a career that spans nearly two decades, April has found that tailored advice and financial education are essential to a positive outcome. She has held national leadership positions, including a seat on the U.S. Private Bank Advisory Council, and as a Summer Analyst Champion and West Women Investor Ambassador. Before joining J.P. Morgan in 2008, she was an Investment Associate at Lenox Advisors in New York.
April graduated with a B.S. in Business Management from SUNY Geneseo. She is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and San Francisco Analyst Society.
Originally from the East Coast, April is a longtime resident of San Francisco, where she lives with her husband and two young sons. She serves as a Trustee of the Bay Area Discovery Museum and was on the board of the Junior Committee for the San Francisco Symphony. Outside of the office, April likes to read, go running, and spend as much time as she can with her boys.
