Omar Altahawi

Global Head of Lending & Banking

Omar Altahawi is the Global Head of Lending & Banking for J.P. Morgan’s Wealth Management Solutions business. Omar is also a member of the Global Operating Committee for the Private Bank. He directs the strategic vision of the lending practice. Leading a team of 170 global Lending Specialists and 15 global Deposit Specialists, Omar is dedicated to delivering bespoke financing and banking solutions, including securities-based lines of credit and custom, specialty financing options while also providing a full spectrum of cash management and custody solutions.

With over two decades of experience at J.P. Morgan, Omar is committed to fostering innovation within lending portfolios, cash management, and safekeeping of assets. He collaborates with advisors to manage clients’ complex balance sheets, ensuring that clients can maximize their relationships with J.P. Morgan.

Omar's extensive finance expertise is further underscored by his previous roles as Treasurer for Asset & Wealth Management and Head of Wealth Management Solutions Finance. In these capacities, he managed the division's balance sheet, encompassing over $500 billion in assets and liabilities, and developed strategies for capital, liquidity, funding, interest rate, and market risk management.

Omar holds a B.A. in Finance and Information Systems from Case Western Reserve University. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, he has lived in Cleveland, Columbus, and Chicago, and currently resides in New York with his wife and four daughters.
