Benjamin Klauder is a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Private Bank and the Head of Investments & Advice in Houston. In his senior role, Ben is charged with running the investment practice for the area and leading a team of specialists to design portfolio strategies for some of the nation’s highly successful families. He partners with the Market Manager to drive strategic decisions that help expand J.P. Morgan’s presence in the region.
Ben prides himself on being a trusted advisor, and enjoys the challenge of crafting strategies that navigate the complexities of generational wealth. His strength lies in his ability to present bespoke investment recommendations that align with the client’s long-term strategic objectives. Ben is a mentor and coach, allowing his team to take advantage of the firm's intellectual capital. He is considered a subject-matter expert in this space, and is instrumental as a sounding board on private deals and other esoteric ideas.
An Ohio native, Ben has spent the entirety of his 15-year career with the Private Bank. Before joining the team in Houston, he worked in Austin, New York City and Columbus.
Ben graduated summa cum laude from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Finance and has been a CFA® charterholder since 2014. His interest in the capital markets followed him to his summer breaks from college, where he helped compile the Forbes 400 by hunting down the world’s hidden billionaires.
A competitive bridge player, Ben travels to tournaments throughout the year. He also enjoys tennis and making international trips to unusual locales. He understands the importance of giving back to the community and volunteers with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, the Central Texas Food Bank, animal shelters and more.
