William Sinclair

Co-Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Private Bank & Global Co-Head of the Family Office Practice

William Sinclair is Co-Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Private Bank at J.P. Morgan, one of the world’s largest providers of wealth management services, with more than $2.4 trillion in total client assets. He also serves as Global Co-Head of the Family Office Practice and is a member of both the U.S. and Global Private Bank Operating Committees.


William leads with a client-first mindset and oversees more than 5,500 professionals in 57 offices across the United States. Together, they serve individuals, families, family offices, and institutions across a broad range of wealth management needs.

William joined J.P. Morgan in 2007. He spent a decade as a Senior Private Banker, advising business leaders, hedge fund managers, and senior J.P. Morgan executives on their personal wealth management needs. He later led the Financial Institutions Group and the U.S. Family Office Practice before assuming his current leadership roles. He continues to advise a number of family offices and is frequently tapped for his deep understanding of the complex needs and balance sheets of ultra-high-net-worth clients and foundations.


William earned a B.A. from Wake Forest University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He holds FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as the New York State insurance license.


William serves on the Wake Forest School of Business Board of Visitors and is Co-Chair of the Wake Forest University Capital Campaign in New York. A graduate of the Brunswick School, he also serves on the board of its Alumni Association. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Council for the Breast Cancer Alliance and sits on the Leadership Council for the Robin Hood Foundation, New York City’s largest poverty-fighting organization.


William and his wife, Brooke, reside in New York City with their four children.
