
William Sinclair is the Global Co-Head of the Family Office Practice and Head of the Financial Leaders Group at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. In these senior leadership roles, William advises the firm's most significant private clients, complex family offices, and institutions. He plays an influential role in the strategic direction of the Private Bank and serves on both the U.S. and Global Private Bank Operating Committees.
William leads with a client-first mindset, overseeing a team of more than 400 professionals who advise private equity principals and their funds, hedge fund founders, asset managers, law firm partners, entrepreneurs, and family offices across the United States on all aspects of wealth management. Together, they oversee more than $310 billion in assets, delivering integrated expertise across public and private investments, fixed income strategies, credit and liquidity solutions, and sophisticated estate and philanthropic planning.
William joined J.P. Morgan in 2007 and spent a decade as a Senior Private Banker, advising business leaders, hedge fund managers, and the top J.P. Morgan Chase executives on their personal wealth management needs. He went on to lead the Financial Institutions Group and the U.S. Family Office Practice before assuming his current roles. He continues to advise a number of family offices and is frequently tapped for his deep understanding of the complex needs and balance sheets of ultra-high-net-worth clients and foundations.
He earned a B.A. from Wake Forest University and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School. He holds FINRA Series 7, 9, 10, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as the New York State Insurance license.
William serves on the Wake Forest School of Business Board of Visitors and is Co-Chair of the Wake Forest University Capital Campaign in New York. A graduate of Brunswick School, he also serves on the board of its Alumni Association. In addition, he is a member of the Advisory Council for the Breast Cancer Alliance and sits on the Leadership Council for the Robin Hood Foundation, New York City’s largest poverty-fighting organization.
William and his wife, Brooke, reside in New York City with their three children.
