Scott: Hi. I am Scott Canuel. I am the Market Team Lead and Executive Director for J.P.Morgan's Private Bank in Baltimore.
It's really an exciting time for J.P.Morgan and the Private Bank to be coming to Baltimore. We've been serving the community, both individuals, families and businesses for the past 20 years from various offices. And with Maryland thriving the way it is today, it's really the right time for us to have boots on the ground locally to be investing in our communities and to make this town our home. J.P.Morgan has been doing this for over 150 years in the Private Bank, and so we can leverage broad capabilities of investing, family office management, philanthropy, credit, fiduciary services, and special advisory services that help a wide array of clients.
Our approach is different than in a lot of other private banks and other solutions that are out there. We focus on a client's and an individual and a family's goals and aspirations; what they're trying to accomplish with their wealth. In addition to helping clients we manage daily volatility, which is top of mind. We also help people, you know, think really long term about what they want to accomplish with their wealth, the purpose and the intent for the wealth they've accumulated and helping them over multiple generations ensure that the future is as bright as the present for them. It's really about helping define the goals and then helping to achieve those goals over time. They may be thinking about a transition of their business. They may also be thinking about how do I retire? I've saved for 20 years and now I have 10 more years of work left. Have I saved enough? What are my goals and aspirations? So those families that are accumulating wealth and have accumulated a portion of wealth that's investable or, you know, we work with many families just on the banking side of the relationship through mortgages and lending as well as traditional banking services. But at the end of the day our main objective is to sit down with a client, a family, an institution, and help them understand what their long-term focus is.
As JPMorgan Chase and the Private Bank come to Baltimore, we're doubling down on our efforts in philanthropy, investing 25 million philanthropic dollars in our community. Focusing on small business growth, workforce development and training as well as community development and to improve financial health for the families that live in our communities. We plan to more than double the size of our team over the next several years so those of us on the ground are excited about what we're about to build and what we can do in this community with the J.P.Morgan brand and that franchise behind us.
