Omar Elangbawy

Managing Director, Global Head of Equity Specialists

Omar Elangbawy is a Managing Director and Head of the Equity Specialists team at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Based in New York, he is a member of a broader team that oversees and manages the discretionary equity portfolios that are available to J.P. Morgan’s global wealth management client bases. In his role, Omar partners closely with the firm’s CIO, Portfolio Construction, Manager Selection, and Asset Management teams to provide communication and insight around managed equity portfolios.

Omar joined J.P. Morgan in 2018 from UBS Investment Bank, where he was a Senior Equity Strategist and a member of the team responsible for the firm’s top-down, institutional view on U.S. equities. Prior to that, he focused on the due diligence of private equity managers, first for UBS’s global wealth management franchise based in London, and later for a private fund-of-funds manager based in the United States. He began his career in the graduate training program at UBS Wealth Management.

Omar holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
