
Alexander Wolf
Global Head of Macro and Fixed Income Strategy
Alexander Wolf serves as a Managing Director and Global Head of Macro and Fixed Income Strategy at J.P. Morgan Private Bank. In this capacity, he leads a team responsible for shaping the Private Bank’s global macroeconomic views, as well as its fixed income and currency investment strategies. Before assuming this role, Alex was the Head of Asia Investment Strategy, where he oversaw research and analysis across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. Currently based in New York, Alex spent the last 15 years in Asia, residing in Beijing, Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has experience in international trade, developmental economics and global capital flows.
Before joining J.P. Morgan, Alex worked for the U.S. State Department, primarily in overseas roles focused on Asia and economic policy. During his tenure, he served in the Foreign Service with postings at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing, the American Institute in Taiwan and the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh. His responsibilities included developing and implementing U.S. policy on economic and trade issues, and acting as a key economic adviser to senior U.S. officials. Prior to his diplomatic service, Alex was an Analyst at the Department of Defense. Additionally, he has held positions at Aberdeen Asset Management, Lehman Brothers and Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics.
Alex holds degrees in Economics from Johns Hopkins University and the University of Pittsburgh. He has published extensively on China’s economy, emerging markets and U.S. foreign policy. He is proficient in Mandarin, both spoken and written.
