Trinny Woodall:

I forget I was on the top of that list because I was expecting a different question. It's kind of a pinch me moment because when it's from an organization that you rate, you feel, wow, they made a fantastic decision. It's exciting and you always look at who else is on the list because that then makes you feel how good is the list. So I was really happy and it was fantastic.

Louise Hill:

It's a huge accolade and it's something I think both as a female founder I'm really proud of, and for our company I'm really proud of. It's a prestigious acknowledgement.

Charlotte Bobroff:

We launched the Top 200 Female Power Businesses Report because we think it's really important to shine a light on the success of female founders in the UK, but also highlight their challenges that they're facing in regards to funding and building their networks. It's a really important thing for JP Morgan to be contributing to the ecosystem of female founders in the UK.

Trinny Woodall:

I think there are many areas that could be improved, and one of them could be that men generally, in my opinion, don't always understand a business proposition, especially if it's not something they would use. I feel there is a need that more women need to be looking at investments that are female founders.

Louise Hill:

One of the questions I'm often asked is about does it make a difference being a female founder? And I know if you look at the stats, they're horrifying because there's far fewer female founders actually find funding. But when you look at the return on investment that female founders generate, it's a considerable multiple of male founded businesses. We started with an incredibly simple mission to help every kid be smart with money. That remains the same today, and we're almost 10 years on.

Trinny Woodall:

What's exciting now is that we are going from establishing what our core proposition is, which is this personalized beauty brand to women, and then looking at where we grow and growth comes from new product development, it comes from localization and it comes from internationalization when you're a DTC brand and then it's looking for the future at what's our take on retail, because retail is a important integral proposition of what we offer to women. But how's that look for Trinity London? So it's very exciting to look at how much opportunity there is for growth.

Louise Hill:

I think there are a number of things that government can do. I think that ranges from education in schools and really kickstarting the idea in women's brains, skills, brains when they're that young that they can do this. I think there are a lot of organizations like incubators and accelerators with a focus on women that can make a real difference. And then I think there's a role for people like me. So somebody who has started a business is achieving a level of success in growing that business to stand up and be seen and be at events like this and let other people see that there are other people that look like them out there.

Oliver Gregson:

And it helps us provide a deeper understanding of some of the structural and systemic challenges that they face. By doing so, we can play a role in advancing women owned businesses, supporting female investors and entrepreneurs, and ultimately helping fuel female ambition.
