About Us

Selim Elgen

Managing Director,

Banker Team Lead

Selim Elgen is a Managing Director and Banker Team Lead in the Dubai office of J.P. Morgan Private Bank. With over 31 years of experience in the financial industry, Selim Elgen is a seasoned leader renowned for his deep expertise in private banking and his extensive knowledge of the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey markets. Currently, Selim is responsible for driving the growth of the UAE business and, more broadly, the overall MENAT (Middle East, North Africa & Turkey) region. In this role, he spearheads the operating strategy, expands the local team, and collaborates closely with other lines of business to enhance the Private Bank’s brand presence in the region.

Previously, Selim spent over three decades at Citi Private Bank, where he held a variety of leadership roles, most recently serving as Region Head for Middle East, Africa, and Emerging Markets. He began his career as a private banker in London, serving a diverse client base across multiple geographies. Selim’s leadership, regional expertise, and strong industry connections have been instrumental in driving business growth and delivering exceptional client outcomes.

Selim holds a BSc in Management from the London School of Economics. Outside of work, he is passionate about skiing, tennis, cycling, and photography.
